This competition was arranged to create a memorial and museum for the repatriated remains of the historical Sarah Bartmaan, a Khoisan lady who became an a sensation in England and whose remains were later exhibited in London during the last century. The aim of this project was to create a building that provided a route toward the final resting point of Sarah Baartman. The main exhibition space was created of fired concrete that was reminiscent of Khoisan rituals.
